川普在推特中表示，中共至今仍没有要购买更多美国农产品的迹象，除此以外，即使美中双方已开始贸易谈判，但川普却在这时候强调：「它们（中共）总是在最后一刻，为了自己的利益而改变心意」。
川普也再次表示中共可能想等到明年美国总统大选，民主党的拜登上台后，再来个「大」协议，「像过去30年那样，继续前所未有地敲美国竹杠」，川普还强调，如果他赢的话，那中国要与美国谈判只会越来越难，因为「牌都在我们手上」。
